The Drink Think Project in Derry will be rolling out the latest instalment of its campaign to “reclaim Sunday mornings” with a unique musical event in the city centre this weekend.

The alcohol awareness group will be hosting ‘The Breakfast Club,’ featuring performances from local musicians Paul Tully and John Deery in The Sandwich Co. in the Diamond at 11am on Sunday.

The event is designed to give local families an opportunity to do something together on Sunday mornings.

Caitriona McElhinney, outreach worker with Drink Think, said the event aims to raise awareness about alcohol consumption.

“It is about making people aware of how much drink is taken on Saturday and ask people to think about reclaiming their Sunday mornings without a hangover.

“It provides an opportunity for families to come together on a Sunday morning in a fun environment and do something different,” she said.

It follows on from a similar event last month which included a treasure hunt in the city centre.

Sunday’s event will involve music and breakfast and costs £1.50 for adults. Children eat for free. For more information contact Caitriona at Drink Think on 71363925.
