A hard hitting documentary made by Derry man Gavin Patton is set to put the spotlight on the campaign for a Detox Centre for the city.
Gavin Patton, a film maker, spoke openly last year in the Derry Journal about his own battles with addiction,
Gavin, now 39, drank for 14 years, living between Derry, England and New York. Eventually alcohol took its toll on his health and the Derry man was hospitalised with pancreatitis in the Bronx as a result of his drinking.
He began filming for the documentary five months ago and has interviewed a wide range of participants ranging from local polticians, young people who use drugs, and former addicts.
