Helping hands at Holy Family

Primary four and five pupils at Holy Family Primary and Nursery School, Derry, have provided a helping hand for the pupils of Mukuru school in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Aileach Road pupils engaged in a range of fundraising events, including cake and bun sales, to secure much-needed funds for the pupils in the African school run by Sister Imelda.

The Holy Family pupils heard about the conditions the Kenyan pupils live and work in when Derry nun, Sister Ann Doherty, visited their classes recently.

The children and staff were so influenced by the talk given by Sr. Ann that they decided to do something about it.

Following their efforts, the Derry pupils accumulated a grand total of £555 which will now be forwarded to Sr. Imelda for the benefit of her pupils.
