The road traffic collision occurred on the Main Street area in Eglinton.

Police have said that just after 6.45pm, a 14-year-old girl was knocked off her bike by a car.

A PSNI spokesperson said the car is believed to have been a black BMW with tinted windows and was driven by a man.

The girl received a scrape to her leg as a result of the incident but did not require medical attention.

PSNI Constable Millar said: “I would appeal to the driver of the car, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to contact Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1063 of 04/11/16.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
