Homes in Derry attacked by masked men

Two houses in the Creggan area of Derry were attacked overnight by masked men.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of damage being caused to the two houses in the Ballymagowan Avenue area on Thursday night (20 October).

It is not known at this stage how many masked men were involved in these incidents.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “At approximately 8.25pm police received a report that two houses were attacked by masked men. Damage was caused to windows and doors of both properties.

“No one was injured during either incident.”

Detective Sergeant Michelle Boyd would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has information in relation to it to contact Detectives at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1181 & 1174 20/10/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
