Hotelier, planner, vet and principal receive Honours

Beech Hill Hotel owner Patsy O’Kane is among a number of local people named in Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year Honours List.

Mrs. O’Kane (MBE), who has owned the Ardmore hotel since 1989, is recognised for services to tourism and hospitality.

Also in the New Year list is former Derry planning official, Mary MacIntyre (OBE), who is recognised for services to planning and voluntary service to Strabane District Caring. Also recognised are veterinarian Eddie Campbell (MBE) and Joan Cuthbert (MBE), principal, Culmore PS.
