House Sparrows top of tree
More than 2,200 people in Derry took part in the world’s biggest wildlife survey earlier this year.
House Sparrows swooped into top spot locally after being seen in around 76 per cent of gardens and green spaces in Derry.

Starlings came a close second with Chaffinches in third.
Running parallel to the ‘Big Garden Birdwatch’ was ‘Big Schools’ Birdwatch’which this year saw 11 schools across Derry take part - including a small pilot carried out completely in the Irish language.
