Houses burgled in Caw Hill and Woodbrook


Detectives at Strand Road in Derry are appealing for information about burglaries and thefts from property over the weekend.

Detective Inspector David McQuade said: “Sometime between 5pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday a house at Caw Hill Park was broken into. The residents are on holiday and at this stage it has not been established whether anything was taken.

“Meanwhile, an attempt was made to gain entry to a house at Woodbrook in the Galliagh area. Damage to a rear door was discovered on Sunday afternoon.

“In the same area, a power washer was stolen from a garden shed. The theft was discovered on Saturday afternoon.

“And on Friday afternoon, a resident living at Rossnagalliagh Park discovered that a lawnmower had been stolen the previous night.”

Police are also appealing for information about the theft of a phone form a flat in the city centre. The third floor property at Abercorn Road was entered on Saturday afternoon.
