Hundreds tell cancer to ‘Slide On’

With the huge inflatable slide taking over Shipquay Street on Saturday, hundreds of fundraisers helped Cancer Research UK raise funds for their ground-breaking work.

The Mayor of Derry and Strabane Elisha McCallion, MLA Mark H Durkan and local priest Father Chris Ferguson were the first to slide down atop inflatable rubber rings.

Those also making a splash included ‘Team Sorcha’, who were out in force remembering local woman Sorcha Glenn who passed away last year, aged just 23, from cervical cancer.

Hundreds of others also made the slide, making it a fantastic day event with plenty of splash!

The event was proudly sponsored by H&A Mechanical; the Derry Journal were media sponsors.
