The Schools’ Business Partnership has announced that Inishowen Engineering Ltd. recently concluded the ninth successful year in its Skills at Work programme for students of Crana College.
The initiative provided first hand insight into the business world to senior cycle students from Crana College and is part of the Schools’ Business Partnership programme run by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI).
During the year long programme and over the past nine years, employees of Inishowen Engineering Ltd. provided a number of interactive talks on, ‘A Day in the Life of ….’
They also ran workshops on team building; how to build a comprehensive CV and develop good interview skills combined with valuable practical mock interview experience.
The students were also brought on a site visit to Inishowen Engineering and saw the various career opportunities that exist within the engineering and business sectors.
“The impact that this initiative has on the students is visible right from day one, it generates an interest and motivation for the students to succeed and to continue to work hard on their studies.
“The partnership has been invaluable to the school over the past nine years.” said Elaine Quigley, Business Teacher, Crana College.
