The Derry Irish Republican Prisoners’ Welfare Association are to open a new office in honour of IRA member James ‘Junior’ McDaid, who was shot dead by the British Army at Ballyarnett in 1972.

The office at 14 Chamberlain Street will be launched at noon on Saturday, November 5, followed by a picket in support of POWs at Free Derry Corner at 2pm.

The Derry IRPWA thanked the McDaid family for granting permission to name the new office after the later former IRA member.
