Derry man and member of Simon Cowell band ‘Jack Pack’, Martin McCafferty, travelled to Kiev in Ukraine recently to film the band’s first ever official music video.
The video will accompany band’s debut single, ‘Light My Fire’, and is taken from their debut album which will go on general release later this month.
Martin is 33 years-old and is from the Kingsfort area of Derry. He is a former pupil of St, Brigid’s College and St. Columb’s College and has been performing and writing music for almost 20 years.
The ‘Light My Fire’ video is directed by Charles Mehling, who has directed music videos for the likes of Emeli Sande, Kasabian and Ella Henderson.
‘Jack Pack’ signed to Simon Cowell’s record label ‘SyCo’ last year and they recently appeared on entertainment programme ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ where they performed ‘Light My Fire’ live.
Speaking to the ‘Journal’ Martin said he was delighted with the video and was looking forward to release of the band’s debut album later this month.
“The video was amazing fun to make. It was shot in Kiev and was filmed mostly between 11pm and 5am, featuring more than 100 extras and two stunt doubles. It was an incredible experience to have the opportunity to work with such great people on our first music video,” he said.
