Country music fans are being rounded up ahead of the Summer Jamm Festival in Strabane next month.
The event is being organised by the new Derry City & Strabane District Council and will take place on Saturday June 13th.
At this week’s meeting of Derry & Strabane Council’s Business and Culture Committee, members approved spending £20,000 on music, street performances, children’s activities, petting farm, entertainment and craft and other stalls.
The festival theme is Country Fest and Strabane’s Main Street, Castle Street and Butcher Street car park will all be transformed. The event is a expected to attract around 5,000 visitors.
SDLP Councillor and chair at the meeting Gerry Diver said: “It certainly sounds interesting. We should encourage some of our city folk to come down and experience it.”
