The Derry Journal facebook page is poised to cross the 20,000 like milestone later today.
In the last 12 months the Journal website, facebook and twitter account have grown in popularity week by week thanks to our determination to bring the people of the North West all the sports and news action as it happens.
This week we had huge reaction online to the story that Father Roland Colhoun had warned parishioners against the dangers of doing yoga and head massage.
And just yesterday in a matter of hours 35,000 people had seen our story about the Derry couple who had their romantic weekend in Paris ruined when they were turned away because one of their passports was tattered.
But sadly, with news there is always tragedy.
And our facebook page has become a place where people come to leave a message of support for families facing tough times.
The death of 13 year-old Georgia Doherty led hundreds of people to leave tributes.
We have also has messages of support for the family of Lisa Orsi as they maintained their bedside vigil in Singapore.
This week our facebook page has also been used for a new competition to find the best chip shop in Northern Ireland.
We always love hearing from our readers so you can use our facebook page to send us a private message about any stories you’d like to see covered or to make any comments about any of the stories we are covering.
Meanwhile our twitter account continues to grow in popularity with 14,500 followers.
