Large Dutch government scientific research vessel the Tridens moored at Pennyburn in Derry

A large scientific research vessel flying under the flag of the Netherlands is currently berthed at Pennyburn.

The 73.54 metre fishery research vessel, the Tridens, arrived in Derry this morning.

The vessel belongs to the Rijksrederi - the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management - and has a carrying capacity of 600 deadweight tonnage.

Prior to mooring in Derry this morning the ship was active in the Atlantic off the west coast of Ireland and was last docked at Scheveningen in The Hague over a week ago.
