Let food help you beat the winter blues

Winter Blues? Did you know that food has a huge effect on our mood? Come join nutritional consultant, Jessica Peoples, in a new course on Beating the Blues with Food. You will learn how food can affect mood, mental and overall health. The series includes practical demonstrations and talks which will arm you with realistic ways of helping you to Beat the Blues with Food. This four week course will take place on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm starting November 15th. Course cost will be €20. A small deposit of €10 will secure your place. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) & Kettlebell classes coming soon to Quigley’s Point Community Centre. HIIT classes will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:45pm-8:30pm, starting 5th 1:30pm, subject to demand. Cost is 5 euro per class, but loyalty card available for discounted rates. Redcastle Football Club would like to thank everybody who came to the Halfway House Burnfoot and supported our Stars in Their Eyes this year, those who bought tickets but were unable to attend, all the singers who took part and everyone who helped in the organization of the event and on the night.

Redcastle Football Club first team team won 9-0 away in Cavan on Sunday, there were hat tricks for Terry Mc Colgan, Brendan Murphy and Colm Mc Laughlin. The club and the RCD would like to thank every one who make a contribution to the recent Stars in their Eyes, contestants, sponsors, and committee members and everyone who turned up to support the event on the night. A special mention and thanks to Ann Mc Gonagle for all her hard work in making the night a big success. Underage football will begin shortly in the Community Centre - Wednesdays 5pm - 6.30pm; 5th and 6th class; Fridays, 6.30pm-to 7.45pm 1st and 2nd class, (begins 7th November) Tuesdays 6pm-7.15pm, junior and senior infants and 7.30 to 8.45pm 3rd and 4th class,(begins 4th November).
