A Limavady man who operates a Facebook page that claims to monitor paedophiles in Northern Ireland is continuing with his campaign despite countless legal challenges.

Joe McCloskey has, for the third time, started a new Facebook page called ‘Keeping our kids safe from predators 3’. Two previous pages were terminated.

When asked why he started a third Facebook page, Mr McCloskey said: “I’m going to keep going to beat the system. It’s worth it. People need to know.”

Mr McCloskey said information and photos he posts online are accessed from online newspaper articles. He said his initial aim was to “name and same a few ones around Limavady”, but he said it has become a way “to give comfort to victims and survivors”.

“I’ve had loads of support,” he said, adding if he is ordered to close down the current Facebook page, he will keep going.

PSNI Chief Inspector Alan Hutton said police “are aware of this facebook page”.

“At this time there are no current breaches of court restrictions,” said Chief. Insp. Hutton, urging users to act responsibly online.
