Eleven local community groups are to receive a winter funding boost from the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.
Almost £45,000 has been released in the latest round of funding. Dr. Avila Kilmurray, Director of the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, said; “Our Foundation is thrilled to be able to put this money directly into the community and voluntary sector in the North West. We have a long track record of investment in the area.”
Groups benefitting from the fresh funds include city-based outfits Galliagh Women’s Group, Aelagh Women’s Group, Shantallow Social Support Group and Cathedral Youth Club, based in the Fountain area, The Rainbow Child and Family Centre, Galliagh and The Greysteel Community Association and Newbuildings Community and Environmental Association Senior Citizens group, The Learmount Community Development Group Ltd, Claudy has also received a grant.
Two Dungiven based organisations, Hands That Talk and the Benedy Community Association also received grants.
