“I have been in discussions with Transport NI to see if there could be a resolution as there have been ongoing issues about some of the developments being unadopted,” Colr Logue said.

“Transports NI have told me they will deal with the light outages in Burnside Manor and hope do so as speedily as possible. They will also continue to try and resolve issues around the adoption of these sites.

“I am very disappointed that the request for the provision of street lighting along the Letterkenny Road between from the turnoff to Burnside Manor and Killea Village has also been assessed and turned down.

“They said this section of carriageway comes under rural policy, which states that lighting shall not be provided unless there is a reasonable development with direct frontage access i.e. 10 houses within 200 metres of carriageway or where its provision would contribute to the reduction in after dark accidents when there is no alternative. I will continue to lobby to them on this issue as both I and residents believe that there should be lighting along this section of very busy roadway.”
