Lough Swily assets up for auction

The company assets of the Lough Swilly Bus Company are to be sold by public auction on Saturday, June 14th.

There are 48 lots in the sale, which includes a number of coaches, a Ford Transit 280 and two recovery vehicles.

The auction will take place onsite at Unit 23 Springtown Ind Estate, Springtown Road, with viewing taking place the day before on Friday, June 13th.

The lots includes 10 Leyland 55 seater automatic coaches, 21 Dennis Dart 37 seater automatic coaches; eight Leyland 53 seaters; one Daf 49 seater and five Scania 48 seaters.There is also two Leyland Tiger semi-automatic recovery buses, one registered in 1989, the other in 1990. They each have 367.339km and 125,419km mileage.

Also for auction is a Ford Transit van, registered in 2006 and with 250, 623km mileage.

The coaches range in mileage, from 28,275km up to 946,059km for a Leyland 53 seater automatic coach.

The majority of the coaches were registered in Donegal between 1992 and 1995.Each of them are emblazoned with the well-recognised ‘Lough Swilly’ logo.Many of them are taxed for the next few months.

One coach, a Leyland 55 seater, has been taxed until January 31, 2015 and MOT’d until January 20th, 2015.A Dennis Dart 37 seater is also MOT’d until April 30th, 2015.

The auction is being undertaken by Midulster Auctions on instruction of McCambridge Duffy Ltd.
