Lourdes group appeal for blanket stitchers

The Derry Trust Fund which organises pilgrimages to Lourdes has appealed for help sewing blankets which will be taken to a hospital at the shrine.

Anna Dillon from the group said a large network of people in Derry have been knitting woollen squares which are then sewn together to make blankets for use by ill people travelling to Lourdes. She said that due to the large numbers of woollen squares being knitted, they now need extra help to sew the blankets.

Ms Dillon said that anyone who wants to help should contact her at 82, Ballyarnett Road, Belmont (71418927) or Elizabeth Zammit at 12, Tosh Avenue, Waterside (71219174) She also asked for anyone who has made anonymous donations to get in touch with them.
