Man (26) arrested after car strikes roundabout

Police say a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while unfit and other motoring offences after police stopped a car in the Ballymagroarty area of Derry in the early hours of Tuesday.

PSNI Inspector Sam Shearer: “Police were at Drumard Park at about 3.30am when they saw a car with five people on board drive off and strike a roundabout. The vehicle stopped at Benview Estate and the driver was arrested.

“Four other men in the car were bailed pending further enquiries.”

Police say the driver was later also released on bail pending further enquiries.

PSNI Foyle said on their Facebook page on Thursday they had been contacted by concerned members regarding the matter.
