Man critical after being hit by car on Strabane Road

The Strabane Road at Newtownstewart re-opened this morning after a serious road traffic collision in which a man in his 40s was struck by a car.

The PSNI advised traffic was flowing again on Tuesday morning after the incident at 6.45pm on Monday, which left a pedestrian in a critical condition in hospital.

The man was struck by a Vauxhaul Vectra, the driver of which was spoken to by police.The pedestrian was taken to hospital and was described as being in a critical condition.Investigating officer, Inspector Smith said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision of who has any information to contact police at Strabane on 101 quoting the reference number 1099 24/10/16.”
