A 25-year-old Limavady man has been fined £400 for disorderly behaviour.
Eoighan Thomas Brolly, whose address was given as Coolessan Walk and who is currently on remand in Maghaberry, was sentenced at Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The court heard police were on patrol on Roemill Road in Limavady on September 25, 2014, when they heard an alarm sounding. They later stopped Brolly in the vicinity of Drumceatt Park and he was acting in an erratic manner, jumping from side to side. He started screaming and shouting and rolling on the pavement. When he was arrested for disorderly behaviour, Brolly replied: “Disorderly f***”.
Defence solicitor Paddy McGurk said Brolly had similar convictions and that most of his offending was related to the consumption of alcohol. Mr McGurk said at the time of the offence Brolly had previously been off alcohol for four months, but had lapsed. Mr. McGurk said Brolly had no recollection of being near the school where the alarm sounded; and there was nothing more sinister than that.
