Man's body discovered in Derry

The PSNI has confirmed that they are not treating the discovery of a man's body in Derry today as suspicious.

An investigation is currently under way after the discovery was made this morning.

A large cordoned of the walkway along the Collon Lane has been sectioned off between the rear gates of St Columb’s College and the rear of St Patrick’s Primary School.

A number of police officers were gathered at the scene within the cordon today, with several cars parked along the pedestrian walkway this morning.

A PSNI spokesman said today: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man, aged in his 30’s, whose body was discovered in the Collon Lane area of Derry this morning, Monday 31 October.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

A number of local people gathered at the scene expressed their shock and sadness this morning.
