“Let’s talk and Walk” in Ards Forest park, this walk is being organised in conjunction with I.F.A, See Change, Coillte and Mental Health Ireland who are organising walks nationally throughout Ireland to encourage people to talk openly about mental health issues. Come along and enjoy the walk and wear the green ribbon to show your support.

Names are now being taken for the walking trip in the Ards Forest Park on Sunday 11th May at 3 p.m. A bus will leave Serenity House at 1.30 p.m. .

As part of “Alzheimers Awareness” Initiative Serenity House, on the 22 day of May 2014 at 8 p.m. will host a talk on “The Role of Enduring Powers of Attorney and Assisted Decision making” in its premises. (please note change of date).

 As part of the Alzheimers Awareness Initiative, Geraldine Conaghan of MacBride Conaghan Solicitors will give a presentation on Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPA).  EPA’s are a legal device that allow you to put in place arrangements for others to deal with your affairs if you become incapable.  She will also talk of the changes proposed by the Government in the new “assisted decision making legislation”.  The Nursing Home Support Scheme will be addressed.  There will be a question and answer session. There is also a facility that questions can be submitted in writing in advance by putting questions in sealed envelopes and left in the office at Serenity House, Moville.  Mrs Conaghan will pick up the questions prior to each talk and address the issues raised as part of the presentation ensuring the confidentiality of the parties.
