Murder trial to start in Dublin tomorrow

The trial of a 39 years-old man charged with the murder of a Derry mother in the city almost three years ago is expected to go ahead at the central Criminal Court in Dublin later this week.

Stephen Cahoon, of Harvey Street, Derry appeared before the court yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty to the murder of 30 year old Jean Teresa Quigley at Cornshell Fields, Shantallow, Derry in July 2008.

Ms Quigley, a mother of four, was found dead at her home on the 26th of that month, having sustained serious injuries.

A jury of eight men and four women was sworn in for the trial which is due to get underway on Wednesday. (May 18th)

The case is expected to take two weeks.
