Mute Meadow '˜waste of money'
A Derry councillor has described the Mute Meadow in Ebrington and a car park which no one can use, as a 'waste of money.'
Darren O’Reilly was speaking at this week’s meeting of the Governance and Strategic planning committee where councillors were told that responsibility for the Ebrington site had now transferred from ILEX to OFMDFM, and there was a target date for this to pass to council in April, 2017.
While a number of councillors praised the work of the now wound up Ilex company, Independent councillor Darren O’Reilly sid it was worth also highlighting a number of issues including Mute Meadow and the car park on the site that cannot be used by members of the public. Councillors were told that there was the intention to move responsibility for the Peace Bridge to the DRD.
