Councillor Tierney, who has been working to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area, said he hopes the new development will help give residents peace of mind.

He said: “Residents in Glencaw Park have been tormented by continued anti-social behaviour. Over the last number of months, I’ve been seeking to provide them with peace of mind, so I’m delighted that these new security gates have been installed.

“I want to thank Shantallow Community Residents Association, Leafair Community Residents Association and the Outer North Community Safety Team for their work to get these gates installed. I have no doubt that it’ll help ward off anti social behaviour and give people here peace.”
