Sinn Féin councillor Dermot Nicholl has welcomed the installation of new bus shelters in Aghnaloo and Ballykelly.

Colr. Nicholl said the move to install new bus shelters in the locations were as a result of meeting with a number of agencies.

Colr. Nicholl said: “I am delighted that the Aghnaloo and Ballykelly areas will receive new bus shelters as a result of my meetings with Translink, the PSNI and Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council.

“These will mostly cater for people in Lilac Avenue in Aghanloo, and Riverview and the ex-army houses in Ballykelly.”

Colr. Nicholl said local people in both areas had been lobbying for shelters.

“Locals in Aghnaloo, especially, have for a long time been calling for a bus shelter and I am pleased to finally help deliver this for the community. This issue was raised with myself and Sinn Féin colleagues in a meeting on behalf of residents,” said Colr. Nicholl, adding: “The timing is great. They will be operational for the new school year.”
