‘No place in society for drink driving’ - McCartney

Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney has said drink driving has no place in society.

Mr McCartney was speaking after it was revealed that the number of people detected drink driving in the run up to Christmas had increased.

“Drink driving is a selfish act that can have serious repercussions. This culture should no longer be merely accepted, it should be challenged throughout our society. People need to take greater responsibility for their actions. I can only stress once again to all those who are going to be in control of a vehicle that the safest option is not to drink and drive.”
