DUP Alderman David Ramsey said it was “extremely disappointing” the opportunity for the creation of more than 500 jobs was being lost. He said that since 2012 his colleagues had worked to try to secure the investment and proposed Council meet with planning officials to discuss the rejection. The SDLP’s John Boyle suggested, however, that the proper place to raise the matter would be when Council next feeds into the Local Development Plan. It was agreed to discuss the refusal then.
