Former nurses who trained in Altnagelvin in the 1960s will be holding a reunion in Derry in the summer.
The reunion, which is being organised by former nurse, Mary Power (nee Morrow), who trained in the hospital in the early 1960s before moving to England, will be held in the City Hotel in July.
Mrs Power issued a public appeal in the ‘Journal’ earlier this year to make contact with former nurses with a view to organising a reunion and said she has already received a considerable response from her former colleagues.
At the time, Mrs Power said she was keen to hear form other former nurses to share memories of their training days, She described the period as among the best days of her life and said that nurses never forget their training hospital.
She has now extended the call to include all senior staff members employed at the hospital between 1960 and 1967, as well as those nurses who trained alongside her in 1963.
A private room has been booked at City Hotel, Derry for a meal and get together costing £12-95 plus a share of room rental.
Mrs Power, who is now retired, has asked anyone interested in attending who has not already contacted her to do so via email at email@example.com
