A Derry family have appealed for help finding a locket thought to have been lost in the Foyleside Shopping centre.

Joan Harkin says her daughter’s locket which was lost on Wednesday contains photographs of two children - one of whom died aged only seven weeks old .

She says they have already appealed for the locket’s return via Facebook and are offering a small reward to anyone who can help them get it back.

“The locket is of extreme sentimental value and my daughter is very upset,” she says.

“There are two photos in the locket of two boys and one has an oxygen mask on.

“My daughter lost this child when he was seven weeks old and received the locket with the photo in it as a gift from her husband after the baby died.”

Through the Facebook appeal the family have been told that a young girl may have picked the locket up outside Dunnes Stores and handed it to her mum.

Anyone who finds the locket is asked to hand it into Customer services at Foyleside or telephone 07791244589.
