Students from Buncrana’s Scoil Mhuire have been locked in intense rehearsals this past few weeks for their eagerly-awaited latest musical production.
If you love the timeless music of the 1970’s Swedish super group ABBA then you won’t want to miss ‘Oh Mama Mia,’ which runs from Wednesday 28th – Friday 30th January.
Scoil Mhuire’s sixth musical is headed by the same production team as ‘Grease’ (2003), ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ (2005), ‘Buddy Holly’ (2007), ‘Back to the 80s’ (2009) and ‘Footloose’ (2013) – Artistic and Musical Director, Ms. Denise Roper, Choreographer and Co-Director, Ms. Tanya Ward and Producer, Ms. Lorna Barron. The musical production takes place at 8pm each night with a special matinee for the senior classes of all of the local primary schools on Tuesday 27th January at 11am.

This musical production features the return of three of the leading cast members from ‘Footloose’ – Sophie Doran, Kevin Carlin and Sarah O’Dwyer.
Scoil Mhuire is delighted to introduce new main cast members - Aoife Lennon, Saffron McDonnell, Matthew McLaughlin, Cormac Porter, Siofra O’Dwyer, Cara McGonagle, Jack McAteer-Wallace, Patrick McBrearty and Mark Francis, all of whom have been
cast in leading roles. The production also features a strong supporting cast and chorus of another 30 students who have been in rehearsals for four months.
This ultimate feel good show tells a story of love, friendship and identity and features all of ABBA’s hit songs such as ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘SOS’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Money, Money, Money’, ‘Super Trouper’, the classic ‘Winner takes them all’ and many, many more. This unforgettable musical celebration is guaranteed to have you bopping in the aisles and singing your way home.
