The dozens of events over the coming days will include a free Older People’s Dance at the Maldron Hotel from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, and Family Fortunes on Friday at 8pm in the Gasyard Centre, with a disco afterwards (tickets £5).

There will be a free Family Extravaganza on Saturday at the Gasyard Centre at 3pm with magic shows and surprises, with a Bluebell Arts Project Fashion Show on Saturday at the same venue 6pm.

Linda McKinney from Gasyard Feile said yesterday: “The festival covers everything and is for everybody from Sure Start programme right through to Older People’s Dances, and there’s music, family fun, sport, film screenings, bus runs, outdoor events and theatre, exhibitions, fashion shows and displays. We have a debate about Brexit, Trocaire is coming to speak and we will have the Wonder Wagon around the area over the next few days.

“The theme is ‘In Unity’ and the Feile is all about the community coming together on a social platform and integrating with each other.”
