An open letter to a certain Ms Kardashian

Dear Kim,

I hope this letter finds you well. I hope that you’ve not caught a cold or the like - from all that running around the nip you seem to do.

I hope your two lovely children are keeping you busy - but obviously you wouldn’t want them to keep you so busy you didn’t have time to post naked pictures of yourself on the internet and pretend it’s all in the name of female liberation and body positivity.

It’s not really about positivity though, is it pet? It’s about trying to get as much attention as possible.

That’s the thing, Kim. I wish you were just honest about your motives. You want to be famous for the sake of being famous. You don’t seem to care how you do it - whether you reveal your inner most secrets on TV, marry an eejit or let people take nude photos of your rear end in a bid to “break the internet”.

What I fear, Kim - if I can be so bold - is that you are influencing a generation of young women to simply have the ambition of being “famous”. They don’t really care what for.

They have no real desire to produce artwork, to contribute to the fabric of society with their expertise in the law, medicine, childcare, teaching, literature, engineering or any number of things.

They just want to be famous. To have big hair and pouty lips and perfectly defined eyebrows. To marry a (rich) eejit with a similar desire for fame - at whatever cost.

To offer nothing of real value to the world - and yet to actively contribute to the dumbing down of society by grabbing the column inches solely based on what you wear or don’t wear - what latest body tweaking make up trick you are at.

You talk body confidence - but you’re all about contouring the bejaysus out of yourself to make yourself look slimmer.

You say you post nudes so that your daughter grows to feel accepted for her body in a world where women are classed as second class citizens. How about teaching her she doesn’t need to show the world every inch of her body to be noticed?

Now I know I sound very old grumpy woman here - and perhaps I am? It’s just hard to take to you when there are women out there pushing boundaries, achieving the seemingly impossible and not having to post nude photos to do so.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see them given the same attention you are?
