Orlando massacre: Atrocity was '˜slaughter of the innocents' - Duffy

Sinn FÃ©in Councillor Sandra Duffy has said she is shocked and horrified at the slaughter at the Pulse Club in Orlando, which has claimed at least 50 lives.

Colr. Duffy said that like everyone in Derry, she was “shocked and horrified at this horrific and senseless act of slaughter of the innocents”.

Stating that her thoughts and prayers are with the relatives of those killed and injured, Colr. Duffy said:

“This atrocity has not only stunned America, it has stunned the world.

“This attack on a group of people enjoying a Pride event is an attack on the progress that the LGBT community globally have made in the struggle for human dignity and respect.

“The world needs to show its support for the LGBT community at this time.”
