Over £35k in library fines for students
More than £35,000 in library fines were collected from tardy book borrowers across Ulster University campuses, including Magee College, last year, it's been revealed.
The university said the £35,717 of penalties were incurred as a result of books being returned later than their due date.
Students - both undergraduate (£27,768.50) and postgraduate (£6,883) - were the worst culprits.

Hide AdBut staff borrowers (£899) and external borrowers (£166.50) were also guilty.
The money was variously used to procure study booths and carrels, tables and chairs, and laptop tables to provide a more varied and flexible learning environment for students; to buy E-books; to print student guides and brochures; and to bind selected journals for security purposes.
