A television, swivel chair, paint jars and wood were among items dumped in Limavady over the weekend.
The items were dumped in the Backburn Path close to Limavady town centre.
DUP Colr. Alan Robinson condemned the dumping, and accused those behind the dumping of “laziness”.
“This appears to have been a simple case of fly tipping, whereas it would have been more appropriate to have taken the items to a charity shop, or to the local civic amenity yard for recycling,” said Colr. Robinson.
The DUP man urged anyone with unwanted items to dispose of them in an appropriate manner and made this appeal.
“I would ask the public to dispose of items such as televisions in an appropriate way,” added Colr. Robinson.
Sinn Fein Colr. Brenda Chivers appealed for people to “take pride in their area”.
“There are facilties on Ballyquin Road to facilitate people who want to get rid of rubbish,” said Colr. Chivers.
“If anyone sees anyone carrying out this type of vandalism in the area, they should contact the Council’s Environmental Services Department immediately on 028 777 60305.”
