Cleaning windows in Derry - definitely don’t try this at home

WOW! This is not a sight you’d see every day in Derry. And it definitely looks like a method of window cleaning that should carry the warning: Don’t try this at home.

A reader has sent the Journal this photograph that she took close to the city centre several years ago and which she came across again while looking through her digital archive recently.

The reader, who asked not to be named, said: “I was walking to an appointment in Queen Street when I saw someone cleaning their windows and seemed to be actually standing on the window ledge on the third storey of a building. I just had to take the picture with my phone, I’d never seen anything like that before and I’ve not seen anything like that since.
