Deputy Chief Constable Stephen Martin says Bishop James Mehaffey was a 'spiritual leader' in dark days
Former top Derry police officer Stephen Martin has paid tribute to the late Bishop of Derry and Raphoe James Mehaffey, who passed away yesterday.
The Deputy Chief Constable, who formerly served as G District Commander for more than four years, said: "So sorry to hear this sad news. Bishop James was both a lovely man and also a towering spiritual leader during very challenging and dark days. My sincere condolences to his family."
