Derry Mayor enjoys Lúcháir Leabhar as part of World Book Day celebrations
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Sandra Duffy, took part in Lúcháir Leabhar in the Guildhall recently.
Lúcháir Leabhar – which literally translates to ‘the delight of books’ – is an annual celebration where people gift books to their friends and family. It takes place during Lá Domhanda na Leabhar – World Book Day.
Mayor Duffy joined children from three local Irish medium primary schools, Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir, Gaelscoil na Dairóige and Bunscoil Cholmcille, who were read to by storyteller Brídanna Ní Bhaoill.
