The 11th HOPEWALK event for the national charity PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide took place in Derry on Tuesday to raise awareness about suicide prevention.

In the UK, suicide is the main cause of death of all young people under the age of 35.

PAPYRUS’ mission is to smash the stigma surrounding suicide and promote hope and support for those who need it most.

HOPEWALK is PAPYRUS’ flagship event which takes place every year across the UK.

The participants met at Sainsbury’s on Strand Road and set out on a walk around the town. PAPYRUS has a Derry base in Skeoge.
