Pipe bomb exploded outside house in Nelson Drive

A pipe bomb exploded outside a house in the Nelson Drive area on Monday night; no-one was hurt in the incident.

Detectives in Derry are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident in the Sperrin Park area of the city on Monday, September 26.

It was reported that at around 11pm a pipe bomb detonated outside a house in the area. There were no reports of anyone being injured as a result of the incident.

The remnants of the device were examined by Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO) at Waterside Police Station this afternoon, Wednesday 28 September and have been removed for further examination.

Detectives are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
