The junction of Greystone Road and Broad Road has witnessed a number of collisions over the years and local councillors have lobbied TransportNI officials to install a roundabout.

Local DUP councillor Alan Robinson met recently with Regional Development Minister Michelle McIllveen in Limavady so she could see for herself the problems at the junction.

“My lobbying over a period of four years for road improvements at the Greystone and Broad Road junction are tantalizingly close to becoming a reality. During the site meeting it was pleasing to hear from TransportNI officials in attendance that the plans for a proposed roundabout are all but complete, and that it now sits at the top of the DRD list for road schemes in this locality waiting the necessary funding,” said Colr. Robinson.

However, TransportNI has told the ‘Journal’ it “is not in a position, at this early stage, to say when funding can be made available”.

“However, we believe that this is a very worthwhile scheme and are keen to see it delivered as soon as possible,” said a TransportNI spokesperson.
