This year The Playhouse’s Children’s Arts Festival will A.I.M high by launching Art in Motion 2012.

Northern Ireland’s longest running Children’s Arts Festival will celebrate its 20th year with a vibrant selection of art themes to suit children from 3- 12 years of age.

Also launched this year will be the A.I.M (Art in Motion) Youth Arts Festival for 13-16 year olds, including graffiti/street art, music and motion, and for the first time ever culinary arts!

For two weeks from July 16 to July 27, a team of fully qualified facilitators will teach a wide and colourful variety of classes, including visual art, drama, music and dance.

“In recognition of the 2012 Olympics, this year’s exciting theme is Art in Motion- celebrating the ethos of the Olympics in celebrating teamwork, achievement and aiming high!” Playhouse general manager Niall McCaughan said. “The Playhouse Children’s Art Festival is an integral event on the Playhouse calendar. Children’s creative intuition is untarnished, honest, and gives a unique insight to how children see the shape of the world around them.

“The Playhouse Children’s Arts Festival strives to nurture these talents and give children an opportunity to express themselves through the Arts.”
