West End star Peter Corry, John ‘Half Hanged’ McNaghten, and legendary American songwriter Stephen Foster are just a few of the attractions at The Playhouse this autumn.
An action packed season of theatre shows, comedy and music has been announced. From the unique celebration of Jane Austen’s most celebrated female characters to a special gothic comedy about 1850’s America, it’s all happening at The Playhouse. In addition there is the theatre’s famed annual Big Tickle Comedy Festival in September. The life and music of the ‘father of American popular song’ Stephen Foster is brought alive in ‘Kind Hearts and Gentle People- the life of Stephen Collins Foster’ which plays from October 12. In November the story of John ‘Half Hanged’ McNaghten is retold by local playwright Stan McGowan in ‘The Wood of The Crows.’ For more information visit www.derryplayhouse.co.uk
