Police RTC appeal after van ends up in a field in Limavady

Police in Limavady have appealed for witnesses to a road traffic collision in which a van ended up in a field.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Limavady are investigating the circumstances surrounding a road traffic collision that occurred on the Ballyquin Road, Limavady, at approximately 2.30pm on Saturday, 10th September.

“The incident occurred due to a vehicle, believed to be a blue Renault Megane carrying out a dangerous overtake, resulting in a van ending up on its side in a field in order to avoid a head-on collision.

“No one was injured.

Constable McDermott urges anyone with information regarding this accident to contact Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 801 on 10/09/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111,” added the spokesperson.
