Western Trust spent £3,810,000 on taxis over the past five years

The Western Trust spent £3,810,000 on taxis over the past five years.

Health Minister Mike Nesbitt provided a breakdown of the spending in response to an Assembly Question.

It had previously been revealed that close to £40m had been spent by health trusts - including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Trust - on taxis between 2019-20 and 2023-24.

Mr. Nesbitt confirmed £6,729,000 was spent on taxis by the NIAS. The Southern Trust spent £8,090,000. The three trusts said the spend was attributable to taxis procured and organised directly.
